This is Jacob’s chosen technique for fixing the popcorn button on the microwave – watch it for a minute or so and you’ll get a good impression of the process. It took some effort for us to convince him to just put in the time manually, but the result was just about perfect for microwave popcorn. For true popcorn, though – with the best crunch, and the best flavor – you need to pop it in a pot, with a bit of oil, and top it with some salt and perhaps butter. Irradiating the kernels doesn’t let them live up to their potential.
I dreamed this morning that we were eating Zachary’s pizza, and we made it come true this evening – though Hannah, Leyla and Mitch had to go with store-bought slices instead. Next I’d like to realize that space station dream, or one of the many deep dives…
