The Transfiguration

everything is sacred

Planet of the Day #1114

This poor planet was torn open by the force of a halfhearted wish, and nearly half of its surface was splintered off into the cosmos. Some of those lost continents may have gone on to found new planets, but they’ve left the core here cold and exposed. In the face of fierce solar winds, this little planet now holds desperately to its remaining waters, holding every pond and every ocean with its delicate silver fingers.

This must have been a lovely place to live before the Wish. Imagine living on rafts that sail spherical seas, gliding from one crystalline ocean to the next on a whim.

Planets can be so short lived, though. It’s odd to think that our sun is already about halfway through its lifespan…
