Kaleidoscope of the Day #1653

This is the ceiling I photographed just over a week ago, seen from directly below. From this viewpoint you can see it acts as a portal to eight subtly different alternate universes; they seem similar now, but in ten thousand years those slightly skewed footsteps will change the course of history.

Clogged highways and green tea waylaid Andrew in his journey to bring me to the airport, and we arrived just late enough for me to miss my flight. It was easy to reschedule, happily, and the surplus time allowed the two of us to look around an extraordinarily somber casino and talk briefly about poems and language. Throughout this week I’ve spent a fair bit of time sitting in cars with friends, but I enjoyed all of it – good words and good company.

Flying back and walking through SFO, I felt slightly rapturous, and loved the sight of all the assembled buildings and the people moving through them.

Back home now, and back to the usual schedule, and life is something fantastic.
