Ship of the Day #1812

We intended to photographs teach other mid-dive today, hoping for swarms of bubbles and dramatic expressions like those seen in shots of tigers and bears leaping into the water. That never came about – the cold made us sluggish – but at the beginning of our swim the camera sailed across the pool on the back of my orange frisbee, spinning and bobbing in the tiny waves. I shot this remotely as Mitch lurked at the water’s surface, studying the camera like a creature from the deep.

Mitch cooked for several of us tonight, preparing something beyond the grasp of my culinary vocabulary – spices and vegetables and mushrooms on a foundation of eggplant, accompanied by saffron rice and toast. He’s quite talented at the stovetop – if only I could eat so well more often.
