Neighbor of the Day #1853

The new apartment isn’t far from my dad’s place, but its location adds a stretch of cozy houses to the walk between home and work. This means, of course, that my little commute sends me through the domain of several feline overseers, and I expect to make friends with them over the coming months.

This fellow greeted me with a sort of faux indifference, quiet and confident, and when I knelt to meet him he twisted around my limbs as cats will do when they mean to claim something. I tried to move on, but he very expertly placed himself directly in front of my legs, insisting that I stay. We spent a few more moments together, but when I continued again he nearly tripped me, so I had to give him one more goodbye before leaving.

I wonder if he’ll remember me when we meet again.
