Chill of the Day #2081

The heat continues to ebb and flow. This morning I woke and saw the tree outside my window rattle as a squirrel or a stranger plucked an apricot, and the scene through the blinds was cool and grey. Some time later, the leaves were a vivid green and the fruit answered in orange, both lively in the sun, and I walked to work in that same air. As I returned home, the sky was heavy again and the street was chilly, but toward the sea a white-hot wire still cut out a glowing streak.

Warm days are lovely for so many things, but these gasps of cold air are still so good for me.

what is gathered will disperse
