Stop of the Day #2121

I wonder how bus drivers feel when they’re carrying only a single passenger. During busier hours the bus is loaded with an indistinct crowd, most of the passengers blurred into anonymity; a single rider seated at the back of the bus becomes a quiet point of interest, and there must be at least a passing curiosity about what those stragglers are like, and what they’re doing taking the bus so late.

Scarcely-populated public transit is a lovely place to sit and read and reflect on the weekend, though. I’m happy for the chance at it whenever it comes up.
