Knack of the Day #2149

I managed to take an hour from the day to slackline a bit with Pearce, stretching the line between two distant trees. Longer lines magnify your uncertainty, so I wavered and fell while Pearce made his steady turns. After only a handful of attempts, though, I began to level out; with no conscious change in my technique I had improved at it, just a bit.

That’s a fantastic fact about living things – we can get better at something merely by continuing to attempt it. That innate adaptability is something wonderful.

So is getting your toes in the grass, and watching leaves rippling in the wind.
