Field of the Day #2235

I passed a shrub on the way home, and stopped to consider it as a tiny forested planet, with the inevitable population of little creatures hidden on its surface. Of course, in a matter of moments it became apparent that it was an active harvest site for honeybees, busy as always.

I still want to capture the feeling, in some way, of approaching a place like this as a bee – flowers as tall as yourself stretching off into the distance, each strong enough to accept your weight and grant you something sweet, apparently without asking anything in return. A tangle of twigs and leaves descends into the core of the planet where other creatures live, going about their lives in the half-light.
