Iris of the Day #2240

Laurel and I went to Ohmega Salvage today, hoping to reclaim an ancient piece of something or other to make Laurel’s apartment more homey. Laurel found it a bit grim, full of medicine cabinet mirrors heavy with old reflections and locks from too many lost doors, but I liked the assortment of old things, all shaped and patterned according to older sensibilities.

A few antique cameras are scatted about the place in varying condition, their mechanisms too obscure to operate at a glance, but I liked just looking through their simple viewfinders. The low sun fell through the lens in this Polaroid, scattering into a glowing iris, so I captured the light with my own camera before moving on.

Photos back then were all taken chemically, and now everything is digital. I wonder if that will change to something new in the future.
